Hey everyone. Just going to get in a quick update today. We have had such a great week! Began teaching lots of families, I am excited to see them progress over the next couple of weeks. :) One thing that has definitely become evident while I have been in this area more and more is how I was put here for a reason! Coming into this area, where some GREAT missionaries have served in the past became a little daunting for me for a little while. But meeting all of these people in this area, and many of them saying that they talked to the missionaries last year but did not like the vibe they were getting. They now are letting us in to share a message. Timing is everything, And I know that to be true. Love, Elder Young

Ps All, Y'all to HMU me with some emails please chandler.young@myldsmail.net

#oneyearago

HELLO EVERYBODY :) wow, K some #realtalk here. It feels like forever since I emailed last. This week has been long, emotional, and yeah :0 but hey I am a missionary in the greatest ward!

So, Elder Oler did throw-up the deuces and left us. I will miss him, a solid guy and nice missionary. His replacement however is named Elder Kellis. He is from the state of OKC. He is a good missionary, chill guy, so no complaints there :)

K I am going to hit up some throwback this week. Many of you might not realize it. June 23 is one of those days that.... well lets just say a few things happened that day that changed my life LOTS! ONE YEAR ago TODAY. I opened my Mission Call to the Bacolod Philippines Mission. Well, look what has happened to me in that past year; I have already have some friends come and go, some have stayed around, I started a mission, AND I changed mission. I would say that this have been a crazy past year. I am sure this next part of my life will not be as hectic as the last, But hey! It has all been a great journey!

Cool story to go along with this weeks missionary work. So Elder Tirrell, and I were expecting one of us to leave so that is what we kind of planned on. So we had our Tuesday wide open with nothing scheduled. This made me a little angry just cuz i like a schedule but the thought went through my mind, maybe we aren't getting transferred just so we can find a solid new investigator. Well, we went out tracking and did just that. We had a young man with us and we found a family, and a sweet nice lady! It was meant to be that we didn't go to that meeting so we could find them! :)

Other great things that went on this week.

Our Recent Convert just got married #lovelife #sololyfe

Billy, the sweet member we have been working with made it up to baptisms last week and got his Patriarchal Blessing yesterday. Progressing WELL :) #praysanswered

One of our "long term" investigators quite smoking after like 30 years of trying to stop. #willpower

Well Thats is all, I love you all, I pray for u! Send me a nice letter if u have the time and even care :0

Happy Fathers Day

Well,
HAPPY FATHERS DAY to all the nice men out there that I look up to, especially my DADDY :)

This past week has been great! After two full transfers of being here, we have a solid teaching pool, and continuing to build the trust with the members. We did just get transfer calls this past week and.... Both Elder Tirrell and I are staying for our third transfer in the same area. Elder Oler is leaving the house which is sad to see, but always exciting to get someone new :0

School just got out here, so we did not get to teach as many times this week as we would like, just with all the nice parties for Graduation, but hey. This upcoming week should be a good one :0 So I don't have a very long email this week, sorry but next week will be a good one :) promise! Also have good pictures next week :0

WAIT, ONE THING. So I am giving a talk this upcoming week in church on "PREPARING TO SHARE THE GOSPEL" I would really like it if any of you would like to send me insights, stories, or anything I could use, I would really appropriate it :)

Well love u all and have a good week!

Members, Family History, and more MEMBERS!

Well, can you all believe it! I hit my 9 month mark in 2 days! Holla!! If I was a sister missionary that would be my Hump-Day, but luckily it is not and i have 15 more quality months ahead of me!

ALso, WoW! It is summer time! Time to party, chill on the beach, take random road trips with friends, stay out late, eat the Mickey-Dsssss and 2 in the morning, sleep the day away, and "live for the nights that you can't remember, with the people that you won't forget." :0 but hey, I am now on a mission and would not want to be anywhere else in my life!

This week we just had was awesome. We had a great Zone Conference. My companion and I won 15 bucks for having the cleanest car #gettinworkdone #cleancar=spirit. My favorite training of the day was one a sister missionary gave on family history work. Wow, and that has applied so much into what we have done this  past week. She reviewed Family Search and how to use it. Also how we can help the members and even people that are totally not interested in the church, get excited about family history.

The push for working with member is paying off big time! We have found lots of new investigators from it and also are planning a great Family Home evening tonight at our stake presidents house with lots of investigators. Not only is working with members a lot more fun, but you also meet more GREAT PEOPLE, and are able to have more success. It is probably true that you can teach more by just tracking. But by working through member you BAPTIZE MORE!

Encouragement from Elder Young; Seek people to find. Missionaries are suppose to teach and baptize. NOT FIND :)
Just thought I would throw back to what i was doing last year at this time #worestjobever #funpeps

Well, I do have to say thank you to everyone for your prays and such. Please keep sending me letters and good stuff. I love it :)

Love elder Young!

Ps. Sorry no pics this week, and that I look so fat in the pics below :( I am working on that! :)

Kamusta! Ako si elder Young. Kalbola ako nga importante ni JesuCristo kag palanga dois plano.

I did study my Illonggo today so I figured I would test it out a little bit :0 But anyways, it is so nice to be with you all on this wonderful planet at this time. It was great to get some of your graduation announcments. I can't believe that was me just one year ago! Cray Cray

This kids are the Beez Knees! #lovethem

Even more, I can not believe how fast time is flying on the mission. I love it, but it puts some great pressure on us sometimes! As far as the missionary work in the Chester/Chesterfield area of the Richmond Virginia Mission goes, it has been great! We have had some great Member Present lesson with our investigators. Being able to teach investigator in members homes is so much easier because you know in their home, there will be a great spirit there! Have to give a thanks & Shout-out to the awesome members here!

I do want to tell you the SADDEST thing ever. A lady in the ward recently found out that she has stage 4 lung cancer! It is crazy! A tender mercy that she has told us is how she went to the temple for the first time just a few weeks before she found out. She know that the strength that she received from going to the temple is going to get her through this hard time. Such an amazing story she told us the day we were invited over to her house to give he a blessing. #lovepriesthoodpower #powerfromonhigh

K I just decided that I am going to give you a run down of our Sunday (yesterday). Let's just say that church was sub-par. No investigators came which I am not to sad because it was one of those Fast Sunday :0 but hey, still got to love church :)

After church we went to this referral we got from a Stake President in North Carolina. We were told, the lady we were meeting is a less-active who they have been working with, and she is a bit crazy. Holy moaly, a bit crazy was an understatement :) hahaha it was one of those lessons that you will remember for the rest of your life. I do have to say that I love meeting people like that. Just to give you a little mental image or back ground. Currently, she is staying with a old boyfriend that cut off her fingers last time she was hear. So yeah, plz pray for her!

Always making these late night #9:00 Wendy runs

At least the next 2 activities for the day where a little more exciting :) we went to see this potential investigator when he son and friends run out to greet us. They are around 10 and want us to play ball with them. Their dad was asleep so we decide it would be great. Played ball with them for like an hour and at the end the dad came out and we had a nice talk with him. Missionary are all about sharing the gospel with the smile on your face!

We ended the night at the Stake Presidents house with a awesome dinner and one of his daughters invited a friend of hers to come over. We watched finding Faith in Christ, just what this boy needed and I know he felt the spirit. It was undeniable. I loved it! I love this gospel and I love all of you. Please keep send me stuff and in your prays :)
